Reproduction fees


The Archives and Records Centre reserves the right to charge a minimal set-up and cost-recovery fee for reproductions.

  • Payment is acceptable by cash, cheque, money order, debit or credit card. Images will be delivered upon payment.
  • Charges for shipping will be added to the reproduction charge, where applicable.
  • The University Archivist reserves the right to deny reproduction of materials for privacy, copyright or conservation reasons and to set limits on the number of copies provided to any user.
  • Where copyright of materials is not held by the University of Winnipeg Archives, users are responsible for obtaining copyright permission. The University of Winnipeg is not liable for the usage of materials that is in breach of the Copyright Act.
  • Archival materials will not be loaned for the purpose of reproduction.
  • On a case-by-case basis, the University Archivist may grant permission to a user to bring his/her own scanner for the purpose of reproducing materials in the archives. A supervision/set-up charge may apply.

U of W users, non-commercial use:

Members of the public, non-commercial use:

Photocopies: $10c/page

Photographic materials

U of W students, staff and faculty, non-commercial use:

Free of charge for up to 20 images*

(Please contact University Archivist to discuss larger scanning initiatives)

Members of the public, non-commercial use:

Set-up fee for first scan: $5.00

Additional images are $1.00 each up to a maximum of 10 images.

Orders for more than 10 images are subject to a flat fee of $50 for up to 30 images, and $100 for up to 60 images.

Requests above 60 images must be approved by the University Archivist.

Delivery of materials on disk: $5.00 plus shipping


Oversized materials

Digital cameras may be used in the Archives Reading Room to photograph oversized images free of charge
